Volunteer Letter

Dear Cast and Crew Parents, Guardians and Family Members,

Thank you so much for sharing your family member with us. This cast and crew is a joy to work with and I believe that you are going to love the result of their hard work. This letter is packed with information and volunteer opportunities so please read it to the end.

Tickets for The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe are available at the Playhouse box office or online at pendoreilleplayers.org. Due to limited seating we encourage you to purchase your tickets early. Also, because of our limited seating, there will be seats only for parents and family members who purchase tickets.

Raffle Basket Donations: Our raffle baskets are great fundraisers to help offset our production expenses. We are looking for donations for our two raffle baskets. One has a spring garden theme and the other is a movie theme. If you have any items that can be added to these baskets please bring them to the Playhouse by the first week in April. Send a Break-a-leg message to your cast member: For $ 5 you can buy a spot in the program to send a message of love, appreciation and best wishes to your child and the cast and crew. Please keep messages brief. All messages must be emailed to Dee Ann by April 1. deeann@boydston.us
Payment for ads may be given to Alyssa during rehearsal. Payment must be made by April 1 for your ad to make it into the program.

Costumes: Our costumers have asked that the following characters provide these pieces for their costumes:
Ghouls - Black or grey sweatpants or leggings
              Black or grey sweatshirt, long sleeve T shirts or turtle necks
Wood Nymphs – soft soled suede or leather looking boots, moccasins or soft soled flats in black, or earth tones.
There may be similar requests for Aslan’s Followers as those costumes are completed.

Help Needed
It takes many hands to put on a show. We would like to let you know of some volunteer opportunities that will grant you a pass to see your children perform and help make The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe a quality experience for everyone.

Poster Hangers – Volunteers needed to hang posters in business windows in Newport, Priest River, and surrounding areas. Volunteer to hang posters in your neck of the woods.

Production Volunteers

Make up team – Group leaders: Come to a make up workshop (date to be announced) then take responsibility for helping a small number of children at 2 dress rehearsals and each performance.
Aid: If you are unable to commit to helping at each performance but would still like to help then come to the make up workshop and we will assign you to assist a leader.

Stage Parents –Be backstage to help keep the cast quiet and orderly. Only volunteer for this if you love children in large groups and can motivate with love and encouragement. .

Set up and Clean up – Two volunteers per show to help set up chairs, clean up and put away make up tables before the show. After the show, straighten the chairs and pick up any trash and extra programs, empty trash cans, wipe down the restrooms and get the theater ready for the next performance.

Ushers – Four volunteers per show to hand out programs and fill out surveys.

Box Office Help – Selling Tickets and distributing the presale tickets on performance days. Training is required. .

Refreshments – One or two volunteers per show. Assist in setting up and cleaning up the refreshment table – coffee, punch and cookies. .

Raffle sales – One or two volunteers per performance. Sit at the raffle table and sell tickets.

Set Strike – After the final performance, Assist in taking down and storing the set pieces. For more information contact Donna Maki 509-445-1962 dnnmk55@gmail.com

Cast Party – Organize and set up the food for the cast party at the Playhouse and then organize the clean up following the party. If you are interested in helping with the cast party but not organizing please let us know.
